1. Once you get your Bottle Caps, you will have to remove the plastic disk on the inside of the
cap. This may be a bit tricky. If you cannot pull it out (I couldn’t) then
you have to heat the inside of the cap with a heat tool, then pull it out.
This took a while to do since the piece didn’t come out all at once. Be
careful, it gets very hot.
2. Next, place your bottle cap with the
colored side of the cap facing up and cover with something so you don’t
mark up the cap. I like to cover
it with my cutting mat ( I have a small one that is about 3x5) and then I
know approximately where the cap is underneath it and hit it with my
hammer going around the outside edges of the cap. Be sure to place a
paper towel on the bottom, then the cap and then the mat. You want to try
to stay away from the center of the cap or you will flatten that as well
(but if you do you can always flip it back over and hit it on the
inside). It doesn't take too long to flatten the cap the way you want
it.
3. Cut or punch out
image from the Circle Pix collage sheet. Using Crystal Effects or your
favorite glue, glue your image inside the cap and let dry.
4. Mix up the
Envirotex Lite (follow instructions on the box), pour into top of bottle
cap and let cure for 72 hours.
5. Using your Dremel
Tool or drill, make holes in the bottom and top of the cap.
6. String beads onto
wire and attach to holes in cap.
7. Attach zipper pull
or Silver Charm Pin. You will probably need silver jump rings to do this.
