Instructions |
1. Cut one 2 1/2"
and two 4" pieces of 20 gauge wire.
2. Cut piece of red felt into a circle (use a quarter to trace).
3. Bend one 4" piece of wire in the shape of a U. Turn it upside down.
There are your legs. Put the feet on by GENTLY bending the ends thru the
Boot Charms - Gold. Don't worry if they are a little loose, it's better
than breaking the charm. Flatten with pliers.
4. Using the 2 1/2" piece of wire, attach the
Hand Charms - Gold in the
same manner. The hands are more delicate than the feet. I use my round
nose pliers to make a small u at each end, then squeezing them around the
hand charm with the flat pliers.
5. With the other 4" wire, using the round nose pliers, make a loop in one
end (top). Turn it a few times so it looks like a curly pig's tail. If you
want your art doll to have a red hat as shown above, string the 12mm bead
and the piece of felt, then the
Face Beads
- Gold. If not, just the head.
6. String two size 6 or 8 seed beads for the neck. Wrap the head wire
around the middle of the arms. Wrap twice. Squeeze with the pliers. Leave
space for the lower body, then wrap the remaining wire around the middle
of the legs. Squeeze with pliers. Please note, it's not real important
what your body looks like at this point as long as it will hold up.
7. The fun part. Start wrapping your fiber around your dolls body and
parts, be careful not to wrap too thickly. If your hands, feet, or any
joint is loose, use your thread/yarn to stiffen it by wrapping tightly
around these areas. When you feel your art doll is fat enough, tie off the
thread. (I usually tie at the waist). You may add 26 or 28 gauge wire
around her or wire and beads, or a thin, fancy thread. Maybe sew on a
charm, wire on a purse? Have fun!
8. Hot glue on
