Italy Scrapbook Pages
These two pages are a small tribute to
my husband's late grandparents, Tom & Marie Lombardozzi. At the age of 17,
they made their way from Florentine, Italy to the USA and settled in
Rockford, Illinois where they had three children, a beautiful vegetable
garden and many happy years together.
The book that I am
putting together to honor, not only Tom and Marie, but many family members
and friends along the way who have touched my life, is a 6x6 red linen
covered album. I love this size format because it is easy to assemble
pages and to transport on trips. I like to grab it and get comfy in my
favorite chair with a cup of coffee and while away an afternoon flipping
through the pages!
My scrapbook pages above were fun and
easy to make. The background paper is an Italian souvenir bag (thanks to
Belinda!) that I cut to size. Then I attached photos, decorative papers,
stickers, transparencies, German scrap and collage sheet images. I added
a flourish with
a Krylon gold pen.

Choose photos for
your scrapbook pages. Adhere them to tan cardstock with glue of your
choice. Use Tacky Glue to attach Gold
Decorative Corners to two corners of the tan cardstock. On the
left page, attach ticket (I used one of my ferry tickets from the trip)
with glue of choice and frame it with
Gold Oval Frame. Tie a piece of
ribbon around a small glass vile (put a
message inside) and glue both the ribbon and the vile to the tan
cardstock/photo with Goop Glue or other glue for metal. Add a quote
sticker (Memory Makers) on top of the photo. Add three
Brass Arrow Charms to the cardstock with Goop Glue.
To finish the left
page, layer the tan cardstock onto a white or off-white scrapbook page.
Take a sea sponge and dip it into Adirondack acrylic paint; I used a color
called Denim. Sponge lightly over both the page and the cardstock, but not
on the photo. Let dry, then use a gold pen to add swirls to the page.
Lastly, use letters from the Metal Type
Collage
Sheet to spell out the place you visited during your travels!
For the right side, the instructions are the same, except I added
Velvet Leaves - Lemon Lime and
tiny square mirrors with Goop Glue. Have fun remembering your travels!!

Pages
For the left page, create
a fabric patchwork background by sewing 4 squares of fabric together using
a ¼” seam. Cut out angel transparency from the Mystery Transparency Sheet.
Cut out little girl image from The Heart of Paris Collage Sheet with
scallop scissors leaving some of the black background as a frame around
the image. Sew transparency to fabric and then sew the little girl image
to fabric to overlap the transparency. Cut out the fairy image from the
Wings of Fancy Collage Sheet. Using glue stick, attach Victorian
Butterfly, fairy image, and ribbon. Glue fabric page into scrapbook.
For the right page, create a second background as above. Attach
language flash card and personal photograph using sewing machine. Glue
letters to form “I” and “fly” to flash card. Glue lens transparency from
the In My Drawer Transparency Sheet over letters to frame them. Glue
words/letters to form rest of sentence “back to the old streets of Paris.”
Add Victorian Bird image by gluing to photograph. Glue fabric page into
scrapbook.
