Introduction
I am I am a mixed media/ portrait artist living in
Bloomington, Illinois. I am the mother of two, with one sweet grandbaby
and another due this summer. I reside in a lovely Victorian home with my
husband and our big crazy tabby cat Kramer. I work full-time for HUD
(Housing and Urban Development) but wish I could devote my time solely
to art.
I have always loved to draw, and my first memories of collage are as a
child, cutting heads out of Tiger Beat magazine and "hiding" them in my
sister's posters just to see if she would notice! I have loved to cut
things apart and "rebuild" them ever since.
For the most part, art was pushed aside while I raised my girls, but now
that they are out of the house, I find I am free to explore art anywhere
it takes me. I have been commissioned for many portraits, however, I
find mixed media allows me more freedom to express my soul.
When not in my art room, I love to read (I am always trying to squeeze
one more book in my library!), play with my grandbaby, and travel with
my husband.
I have been published in Somerset Studio, Stampington's Gallery, The
Stamper's Sampler, Stampington's Transparent Art, Simply Sentiments,
ARTitude Zine, and have one blue ribbon awarded on a portrait of 14
children entitled "Bless the Children".
