Introduction
My name is Sarah Fishburn. I live in Northern Colorado,
where I belong to a funky group of Mixed Media artist women who meet
monthly and go by the abbreviation AA. I self-publish a yearly calendar
with my friend Jean. I wear sweaters frequently, but can't knit to save my
life. Flowers, fashion, the art in lots of kid's books, road trips, going
to the movies, receiving a surprise real-time visit from an old friend,
laughing, dancing, eating fabulous food I didn't cook & cruising around
town with my family on our bicycles - these are a few of my favorite
things. |

White Shell Buttons
Spiral Heart Charms

Instructions
1.
Take a lid from a frozen concentrate
juice can and color with a black sharpie, or paint a layer of black
acrylic paint. Please note, you do this so that where it cracks when you
gild it, you have a nice black showing through.
2. You guessed it, gild it! I do the front AND back.
3. Cut a collage sheet image to fit the center of the lid and attach
with your favorite adhesive.
4. Add phrases cut from books, or 3-d
collage elements.
5. Highlight the piece with metallic rub-on paints.
6. With hammer and nail, punch holes into the lid, one on either
side of the top (for ribbon to hang the ornament) and several along
the bottom (to dangle charms).
7. Thread ribbon through top holes and attach a
White Shell Button
with waxed linen.
8. Spray with acrylic sealer and voila, hang! |
